A. Lange & Söhne: Congratulations ...

... on your purchase. I certainly mean no malice towards you, or any others who have so promptly taken up arms in your defence. I expressed some personal opinions that, it seems, no one wanted to hear. That it is a contrarian view that differs from the crowd does not make it any more or less valid,

A. Lange & Söhne: For a 200 ann watch, ...

... a little underwhelming IMHO. Sorry to burst your bubble, but its my honest opnion. At least if it was enamel dialed or something special, that would pigue my interest. Quite sad for Lange to push out something like this as a representation of a landmark occasion. It certainly is not a landmark w

Patek Philippe: Finishing & Tactile Feel ...

Although I do not have the earlier Plat version or seen one, my understanding is that Patek finishes its watches to a single standard irregardless of the casing metal. The tactile feel of the pushers does loosen up a bit after a few applications, but compared to the Dato Mk2 which I expected it to a

Horological Meandering: Actually, ...

..., I appear to be returning (some will say - regressing) to my roots. I started off with an interest in dive watches. They were/are the epitome of ruggedness, durability, reliability and legibility that has always fascinated me from very young! I of course, also used to dive in my younger days - b

Horological Meandering: The PloProf caseback ...

... is a strange beast. The original casework was a singlepiece monocoque SS case. The latest version is said to be a 2 piece caseback. I am not sure how this is executed, but could it have adopted the DeepSea Ti/SS caseback principle with a compression ring?? In the PloProf, both poieces are SS.
