No problem at all. Despite both 5740 and 5712 are rated 60m water resistance, the most important water-resistant feature is the screwed down crown. Certainly you also need to make sure there has been regular checking of the O ring.
Have been swimming/ rinsing with my 5740 and 5712 from day 1 and they survive the water test with flying colours. On the other hand, I dare not doing the same with my wife's 7118, which is also rated the same water resistance but without a screwed down cr

And I do agree with you. 90% of the time now is my apple watch. the 10%. I start wearing back my old school collection of panerai, & omega. But all the rolex got put away except for Air-King with green rubber strap. and the patek.. 5711, 5980 , 7118..

Hi Anaroku, the 5990R's new clasp is similar to the 5740G's, which is in turn similar to the Aquanaut range & new ladies Nautilus 7118A & R. To my eyes, the blue is close to that of the 5980AR but I must say it changes in different lighting & directions
Side note new ladies Nautilus 7118A & R allow for slight length adjustment which the men's versions does not allow. Hope photos below help. I do prefer the blue of the 5740G though …

Here are the official MSRPs of the four versions, which are also available on Patek's website. (According to this document, which I just received, Ref. 7118 will appear in both R and G. I'm sure Patek's site will soon report it as well.)

A few I think we will see...
5740R, 5726R, a new hobnail Calatrava (perhaps a 38mm with a 324), a ladies diamond bezel version of 7118, ladies 7118R on a strap, 5231, 5968R, 5320R. I would love to see a sector dial 5170P but I highly doubt it. Less than 3 week left to wait!
