I was following along with the Broad Arrow auction.

Many many things to like but I especially liked lot #210.

This is one you buy for beauty, not for its legibility 😄

The hour hand on this ck2998 isn’t bad, but the minutes hand is too thin. It is so thin that the tiny sliver of luminescent material is useless, and in the dark you can only see the hour hand. The standard speedmaster’s straight hands are much more legibl

My thoughts

I’ve sent in a few Speedmasters for service. Moonwatch, Broad Arrow, and a Triple calendar. These all went to a Swatch Group Culver City service center (I sent them through a former Omega AD, but still an AD for other Swatch brands like Hamilton and Tisso

and women have only 2 feet, yet...

I know, but I do no buy your theory. Would you refrain from a getting a Speedmaster 1st gen if you already own a the Seamaster and Railmaster Broad Arrow simply because it is watch nr. 11? There is much more to horology than wearing watches. Off course it

if i were you Nicolas i know what i would go for

although i already have it. i would go for a 105.003-64. they may not have broad arrow hands, but they are possibly the first ones that you can readily buy in original condition and the last of the straight lugs. if you are desperate for broad arrows etc

as MSN has said, vintage is best, but if you want newer.

the only one to go for really is the standard model as it has the same history as all the others. if you want something that harks back towards the vintage, but is newer then try the 1957 'replica' made between 1998 and 2001. it has a steel bezel and broa

What watch Started you collection...??

Hello Everyone... While posting a reply to Jeff's Seamaster 3oo project completion. I started to think about the 2913-3 in my collection. It really is a Keystone watch in my collection. The early Seamaster 3oos ( flat lug ) style are one of my favorites.
