Horological Meandering: First Tri Compax Reference

Hi all! Looking to learn more about the first Tri Compax reference… I can find lots about the model being introduced in 1944 but nothing that tells me it's reference number and there is a large number of references that seem to have been made in the late 1940s/ early 50s… Any help is appreciated!

Rolex:

Ahh okay, that makes sense! Thank you! I agree, this watch is a no-go for me. A very sad-looking overpolished watch. Thankfully there are plenty 16030 available.

Horological Meandering: Watchmaking History Books

Hi all! I have decided that I want to buy some books on the history of watchmaking. I have found five volumes that I am interested in purchasing, but many have multiple editions, and I hope that someone who has read one or more of these texts can help me know which edition is best to buy. The titles

Horological Meandering: What Was Your First “Luxury” Watch?

Hi All! I am new, and this is my first post on this site. I want to ask, what was your first “luxury” watch? Or, perhaps, what watch do you hope it will be? For myself, it was the Rolex 16030.
