Jaeger-LeCoultre: Lovely

Beautiful watch and at a perfect size too with very nice dimensions. I have seen this at a dealers in real life and it really is quite exquisite. The only issue I have is that one of the two registers should have been constant seconds rather than having an minute and hour counters!!!

Great idea, but beware that its a slippery slope from here onwards...especially if you wife likes watches!!! We have 4 such combos (two sets of Omega Seamasters, one set of Longines and one set of seikos)!!! regards Farooq

Jaeger-LeCoultre: waterproofing?

Lovely!!! Does anyone know why they chose not to have a screwdown crown to enhance waterproofing of the case? The modern versions don't have them either and neither do the chronos which make them less practical for actual water use. regards Farooq

Jaeger-LeCoultre: not ideal application of dual time

Nice pic, but I could never get my head around two things...firstly the ugly button that ruins the lines of the beautiful case...much prefer the older version with the recessed button, and why did they need a button anyway? Jaeger-LeCoultre: is it exactly like the JLC?

The original strap has a plastic insert at the lug end that gives it the required bulk to "fill in". Does the CF strap also have the same? Could you post a pic? best regards Farooq

Jaeger-LeCoultre: beautiful watch

Lovely, Nicholas. Could you tell us what is the difference between this and the Memovox? They look identical.

Omega: Omega

Don't worry, Omega will do a superb job of restoring the watch. Yes, they will charge for it, but it will be worth it in the long run. I made the same decision for my grandfathers Constellation and never regretted it. BTW, they will replace the hands and many parts inside but all will be returned to

Omega: medallions

The earlier steel Constellations also had the medallion stuck or glued in. My grandfather's 1953 bumper has a press on back with one such medallion which is gold colored. I think it was sometime in the mid 60s that they changed over to a molded back.

Omega: piepan?

Thank you everyone!!! I had asked Omega not to fiddle about with the dial even though the printing is barely visible. They did change the hands and the crystal, and returned the original to me. cicindela: why do you say that this is not a piepan? Maybe not apparent from the picture due to the heseli
