Will the new AR crystal introduced on the new Platinum Daytona be used on the current Daytona line? Or is it going to be exclusive to the Platinum Daytona.
The only change that I am aware of is that around 2007 JLC switched from a single deployant clasp to a double deployant clasp. I have had no issues with my Compressor Geographic.

I'm drawn towards the WG DD2, but there are times that I think I would love to add a YG Rolex to my collection. I'm just not sure how comfortable I would be wearing it in public (too flashy). You are lucky that you can wear each around and see what looks best with your style.
Don't hold your breath waiting for a dial like that on a SS Daytona. Red hands and accents are reserved for gold models in the Daytona line. It is nice to dream though, I do like that dial!
