Horological Meandering: I am struggling with that same question

I also wondered about ruining the basic character of the Dornbluth watch, so I am still undecided as to the dial.

Horological Meandering: Great picture

Thank you very much Art. I actually did see that somewhere online when googling "Dornbluth grey dial." I think the look works very well. I would love if Dirk can create a dial similar to the other watches I posted with the "sunburst" effect, but the solid grey dial in your picture is also quite stri

Horological Meandering: Considering a Dornblüth

Greetings. I have been contemplating a new watch for some time and I think I have settled on a Dornblüth. I have to thank the PuristS for making me aware of this great brand. I love the fact that it is bespoke and made to fit your needs. It meets nearly all of the needs I wanted in my next watch (le

Horological Meandering: You aren't alone

I keep the nice bags, but I save most of the watch catalogs I get. The watch industry seems to be one of the few that has continued to print beautiful promotional material. I like that many of the manufacturers have embraced technology and have great iPad apps but that they still complement them wit

Horological Meandering: Beautiful

Thank you for posting such great pictures of some gorgeous vintage watches. I love dress watches, and the watches from that period are exactly what I love.

Horological Meandering: Another point

One other thing that no one has mentioned is that the older Rolex designs had hollow center links which would stretch over time. The gold especially being softer than steel were more prone to this. In recent years the switch to solid center links should help the overall condition of the bracelt over

Cartier: Great review and pictures

Excellent writeup. Agree completely on the comments on the movement finishing. The 1904 MC is a solid movement but the finishing underestimates what it is.
