I will respectfully disagree with your principle assertion that yellow gold is somehow less desirable/popular, in most references. I assume of course we limit our discussion to "classic" Patek watches rather than less formal, sportier ones. I think most will agree for those stainless steel is prefer

To my eye, 37mm is the perfect size in this watch for all but the most extreme of wrist sizes. I think the look it's going for is " subtle and classy" and this is where larger watches often fall short. I even like the fact that it has a solid caseback. For this Calatrava it just feels more classic,
Please don't take this the wrong way, but it seems to me like you were just having fun at someone else's expense. You asked to try on what you 'immediately' noticed was fake, took photos of said fake, asked when he applied for said fake (for what purpose?), and then posted the entire ordeal online.
