Happy hump day!

Putting on a different kind of shoe for my 5172 and I must admit, I absolutely adore the look and the added vintage vibe to the watch. Let’s just hope the bracelet holds up 🤞🏿

Out of these two the 5140. I used to have a 5960G in my collection but realized I prefer a manual chrono over automatic so swapped it for a 5172. I also prefer to have 1 reference complication than several combined.

So manual chrono over auto Perpetual over annual Worldtimer over GMT And a combination of these “lesser” complications never trumps a watch with only a single “more advanced” complication.

Hi Nicolas, to me clearly a

"TIE" between 5070 and 5172 because - subdials in 5070 is balanced with the middle aligned with the 3 to 9 horizon - 5172 has beautiful syringe hands and whole numerals vs 4 partially cut numerals in 5070 Please award 0.5 point to each

Patek Philippe modern Chronographs: 5070P, 5170P and 5172G.

From left to right: A favorite? For me, clearly the 5070P, here. Best, Nicolas

For handwound chronos - these are the best contenders

I looked very closely at the Lange 1815 chrono (early and current versions) but couldn't love the case nor dial. The 5170 (breguet numerals) won easily in those areas. I thought the 5172 dial was unnecessarily large and thought that size might not age wel

Out of these 3 - the 5172 for me.

All three suffer from the same droopy subdials. Lange movement is a little above Patek, but certainly not by a lot. Case work on 5170 is a little simple for me. The 5172 is brilliant, not just the triple-stepped lugs, also the sides are more complex then

Patek Philippe's crown guards dress watches

Crown guards are usually featured in sports watches, but Patek Philippe has used them in a very interesting way in dress watches . See for yourself. The models are organised by family of complication and, just for the fun of going against my natural incli
