It would have to be powerball bc things are going to get a bit expensive…

2499p - an easy choice I think. Photo from Hodinkee. FPJ subscription series - I love FPJ and this is really the ultimate Journe collection. Photo from Hodinkee. And a simple 5711p for sporty / daily use. Photo from wristcheck. Other things I considered a

It's so funny that one of my first "what watch is that?" moments was watching the TV series "Suits" in 2011

Harvey Spector (main character) was a hot-shot, very well attired, bold lawyer who never lost a case. In a couple early episodes he wore a Patek 5004P (later determined to be a replica but that didn't matter) and my lizard brain reaction was to franticall

The classical version of 3998P -

I am travelling right now but will post a picture later this week. Your observation is correct, the baton dial 3998P with sigma dial (ie the first version which one would typically want to own as a collector) is not easy to find. But a true classic. And a

3970s of early generation are my biggest harvest this year

This post reflects a lot of my personal preferences, so I apologize in advance for any offense it may cause, especially to those who love the modern (third generation or later) 3970 model. I wasn’t particularly a fan of the 3970 until two years ago. I'd s

5204 for me

I traded in my 5270G-001 to raise funds for my first 5204(R-011) and have never looked back. The 5204 fits me so well I have added another to my collection (5204G-001) and they are both in my daily rotation. No issues with fit on my wrist at all. 40mm cas

Yes. It is stunning, and it wears fine on the wrist too...

but the 5270 wears much better for me as well. The 5004 is even thicker but you don't hear much complain about it. Combining multiple complications is also a complication itself 😊 Here is the 5204P-011 I have tried. I was worried about the upside-down moo

I wanted to say 5204…

But now that I have your feedback on the watch my reservations for it have picked up. Personally I wouldn’t bother with these two references. I’ll get a 5970 as it is still attainable. A 5004 reference is way less attainable now. Best Gatsby

What an interesting post with a heated discussion. I suppose one shall not compare the brands but shall compare watches. I would like to leave 3 unbiased thoughts on the subject and a personal opinion.

1) PP are very wearable and this aspect is often looked upon when compared to others. People mentioned ALS, so I'll use it as an example. We all praise Lange double split and triple split for the insane innovations and craft. But these watches are 15 mm t
