The split second. The history. The movement. The endearing size and so called “hamburger” effect. It’s a quintessential Patek and one of the all time greats.
The others are beautiful. I am fortunate enough (very) to own. 5970g a 5270g and P and a 5004g. Of the three models the 5004 would be the last to go without a shadow of a doubt.

5970 - 5004 - 5270
If the 5004 was a bit bigger that would be my first choice It's too thick for it's size
I've only been able to try on the 5204, not the 5004,
but yes the dimensions aren't ideal.

But of all the Patek Perpetual Chronos, I have a soft spot for the 3970 (white metal, black dial, no diamonds, if I am allowed to be picky). And for my wrist the smaller size still works.
Hi Emmanuel, my preference in order of highest to lowest is
5004, 5970, 5270 based on my own taste of the movement, complication and rarity.

For me the 5270 is the winner. I like the lugs and dial layout. From a practical standpoint, when I was in the process of acquiring a PP PCC, it was the one in production. 5004 is fantastic in its own right, the pushers and crown make it less desirable to...
I also think that the 5270 has a lot for itself.
The only time when I was able to see 5270 and 5970 side by side I didn’t find them to be fundamentally different. Concerning the 5004, it’s the thickness rather than the pushers or crown which bothers me. Best, Emmanuel

Display to size ratio wise the 5004, sadly I can’t unsee the small moment in the big case of the 5970, even if I love the Lemania heritage,
So for me it’s the 5270( with the chin), due to the bigger month-day and cleaner overall look of the dial. But to be honest, for me personally, nothing beats the 3970. The 5270 family: Best, Zsolt. ...
