Thank you!

I really like it, the scalloped lugs give the thick case some refinement. The heft and presence are fine, if I had a smaller wrist, I think I’d prefer the 5960 or 5961. Although those references have circular pushers as opposed to the rectangular ones on

My first post in a long time, wearing my 5905R-001

I haven’t posted on here since around new year 2022 from my recollection. Nevertheless I have missed all the superb watches shared on this site. I thought I’d show what I’m wearing today - my now discontinued 5905R-001, acquired earlier this year. I love

Hi Mike, it might be an interesting topic of study, but alas, the "numerology" just doesn't seem to be regulated in a predictable/consistent way... I'd safely call that a "general rule" since many limit examples are quickly coming to mind.

For instance, this year we announced the new Ref. 5189G, which going by the info I was given, appears to have the same case as the earlier Ref. 5177, with the only exception of the addition of a solid case back. There are then (numerous) other examples wh

Intricate with decent Lume

The 5172 achieves a rare feat of intricacy and a good amount of lume at the same time. The 5320 also achieves it but most models with a lot of lume look..well.. blunt. I love wearing an aquanaut but it doesn’t have the same intricacy. Then you have quite

Thanks for sharing today's big news, quite a bit to digest indeed! As a quick reaction, if this is the full list like it seems (that's what I understand too), the most amazing thing...

...is that the 5131P remains in the collection, while it was given for safe at many levels that it was being discontinued. In this case, TS would have really (more positively than negatively) surprised many people, including my humble self! Interesting th

Yes perhaps you are right

I am not sure about how often they accommodate client requests but nevertheless I really like the overall composition of this piece. And the fact it is piece unique.... Perhaps it is a slightly less bling version on the 5961P but somehow this version spea

Blue rocks

As some may know I am quite a fan of the 5960 in most iterations. Today what is possibly a piece unique matt blue dial with baguette diamond hour markers version went under the hammer at Bonhams in London. While I was participating via phone bidding unfor

The participant was, however, thoughtful enough to put emphasis on it as a rumour.

It was in production for a year or even less. Patek did manufacture the other two models in platinum at the same time, and they're still producing the 5961P-001. We can't also forget the two other references in rosegold which housed the same movement. Mos

[Baselworld 2016] A wide diversity of Patek Philippe case profiles

You know that, when looking carefully at Patek pieces' details , we discover all kind of beautiful elements we didn't notice at first sight. These elements are what, imperceptibly, make these watches so special and refined. Some cases in watchmaking are m
