Thanks for sharing this experience -- frankly the whole thing sounds extremely odd. So according to Richemont Italia (I assume), you are supposed to hand 560 euros cash to the DHL guy who shows up at the door with your watch?
I agree you should definitely give them a call and arrange for a more reliable (and possibly more modern) delivery method. I can see you're relatively close to Milano but not in the same region, so maybe now they can't get the watch to you because of this

I only see this in the blue dial on the site though!

The current picture on the website certainly doesn't show a sandwich dial.
But, the new replacement model certainly does have a sandwich dial: 560: www.panerai.com ml 914: www.panerai.com ml

One thing to note is this is a a Q series and apparently this was the last year the PAM560 has a sandwich dial. Can anyone confirm I am not making things up?

PAM 510 replaced by PAM 915 on Panerai website (USA version)
So it looks like they're rolling out the newest iterations of the classic 44mm Luminor watches with 8-day movement. The differences from the PAM 510 I can see include: Return of the sandwich dials. The font on these sandwich dials looks like the same ones
