Sapphire scratch, Cash on Delivery, but where's my watch?

Dec 26, 2020,01:34 AM

I bought a PAM 753 2 months ago.

I really like the shape and I pulled the trigger, though the watch is a bit thicker and not automatic.

A friend of mine (who already got one) asked me to look for a 753  because he needed it to gift.
To make it short, I told him I would sell him mine, after fixing the case and glass scratches.
While I can accept the fact I hit something, I can't tolerate a sapphire glass to get scratched; I work in a pharmacy, neither in a diamond mine nor in a garage with widia tools.

Anyway I was told and guaranteed that my watch would have serviced and returned before Christmas.

Did you see my watch?

I called the concierge, sent emails, and I was told that my watch has left Milan monday 21st...and it should have been already delivered.

First, I have no tracking number (likely is DHL)
Second, by far worse, is that  they only accept cash on delivery.
Third, the glass sucks.

In 2020 I must instruct a relative to pay € 560 cash because Richemont group is not yet aware of wire transfer or other digital payments.
it's absolutely annoying and not acceptable, I will send another less polite email.

I hope they sort it for u. How was the sapphire scratch? I never had any incidents with chipped or scratched sapphires yet. A friend of mine had his sapphire chipped from a knock in the elevator door. I think the Moh scale doesn’t make it less prone to ch...

Beautiful watch

But the sapphire scratch is surprising, and takes the beauty away somewhat. I hope they fixed it. Don’t bother being mad with them, they won’t react to it. I had my share of nasty experiences too, and some great experiences too. Do you plan on keeping tha...

It's already sold

My former art teacher, definitely a mentor for many of high school students, was looking for it and I immediately wanted to have it serviced, before giving it to him. What disappoint me the most is the lack of professionalism, I know very well that we hav...

Indeed. So strange they have different practices in different countries. Here in Australia, they are represented by quite a solid AD. But I had many harrowing experiences too. Will you get another Panerai, with this experience? It seems your AD may be to ...

At the end of the day I hired an attorney and only then did they refund my purchase and take the watch back. Company ethics and ethos eventually reveal themselves negatively and in my experience with Omega very positively. Probably one of the reasons I ha...

Always give the customer value...timely service (a few times free of charge) free Moonwatch Only with my last purchase. Excellent quality control...great packaging...what’s not to like?

Yes indeed.

Thanks for sharing this experience -- frankly the whole thing sounds extremely odd. So according to Richemont Italia (I assume), you are supposed to hand 560 euros cash to the DHL guy who shows up at the door with your watch?

I agree you should definitely give them a call and arrange for a more reliable (and possibly more modern) delivery method. I can see you're relatively close to Milano but not in the same region, so maybe now they can't get the watch to you because of this...

Exactly, it was odd to me either.

I know it's just a time only, 4.3k price tag. But honestly I don't care much if there's a shortage of personnel, items are moving all over the country quite freely and if amazon provides me a real-time tracking for a 20 € book, Richemont must do much bett...

Viva OMEGA :-)
