Rolex 116523 with Rolex 16613 submariner

The discontinued Neo Vintage Rolex 116523 and 16613 submariner are often neglected by collectors. However, the steel and gold combination has enabled the watch to be worn on formal and casual occasions.

Here is a Rolex Vintage mostly sports models Box reference list. Compiled from various sources so errors can sometimes be replicated. The early 1950-1960 boxes mostly did not have reference numbers and seemed to often be interchangeable among models. Use

Inspired by recent post from Jocke I share the watch …

… on my wrist during the current week: my circa 2010 ref 16613 TT Submariner. The modern version doesn’t have the charming nipple dial of Jocke’s watch but the same stunning cobalt blue is still there. Have a nice weekend dear friends! Abel

Thank you, Walter!

Especially for these great pics and your interesting thoughts. I’m not sure about the brown dial for the Root Beer. Perhaps it would loose its versatility to combine it with different styles and colours? I agree with you according to the blue TT Sub. It l

The Root Beer Everrose is hard to beat, but not Root Beer enough with the black dial.

The Sub 16613 is very bling-bling, much more than all other Rolex watches. For one day or two it is OK, but for a daily driver it is too much for me. The 16622 is my sommer watch, also bling-bling but not so vulgar like the 16613. It is another Submariner
