Vintage Rolex Box reference guide list 1950 to mid 2000's

Nov 26, 2024,22:16 PM

Here is a Rolex Vintage mostly sports models Box reference list.  Compiled from various sources so errors can sometimes be replicated.

The early 1950-1960 boxes mostly did not have reference numbers and seemed to often be interchangeable among models.

Use the list loosely as a guide but by no means definitive.

All updates welcome.

Still trying to find the damn box for my 6542... ))) I think the right one is this one: ...

The serial number and reference number are the wrong way around on this case, either a factory mistake or was it initially made as a lefty?

Interesting difference from my 1675. - Image added.

I have a full set 1.9 million serial number. The chronometer certificate is dated May 1969. It’s printed rather than handwritten. There are quite a few differences in the details. My box is white and has a 1675 sticker on the side. The inner box has some ...

One of the joys of this hobby realizing how unique each piece can be.

Even though they are mass produced and just a few years apart, there are many changes in the details, even among the packaging. Your 1675 is more original than mine. I got mine from my father who purchased it in Germany in 1970. He maintained it meticulou...

Thank you dear Bill! These “small details” are what we collectors…

… appreciate and love to know so much! And not an easy task to research and find the answers to so many details. Thank you again and have a great weekend too! Best, Abel
