Anyone remember a watchmaker from maybe ~20 years ago who made a prototype wristwatch that was somewhat analogous to the Atmos in the way it was powered? I don't think it was quartz, I think it was mechanical? And it wasn't Bulova, I'm thinking of an independent inventor/tinkerer. Anyone else rememb

Seiko: Just grabbed a new Seiko SPB151 "Willard" ...

Had my eye on this since the first reports last winter. It just came in today. I went with the 151 w the black dial. It came with a nice bracelet but I popped that off and added a NATO strap. Horological Meandering: Thoughts re the quality of old vs new movements...

Been bouncing this around in my head for a few years. Frequently we'll see a low to mid-tier Swiss watch from the 50s through the 70s and it will have say a 17j automatic, which I think seems low by modern standards?
