very understated with the dial color but the finishing looks good and rich in person. I haven't seen the iwc in person. The JLC complicated dial seems natural and harmonious to me but the IWC is better off with the date only.. I don't like the 3 registers on the patterned dial seems out of place.
and TBH I like your dial more than the perpetual I have. I was considering getting it to complete the pair.. but restrained myself. your post brought back the cravings.. th big date is overall layout is more beautiful. I like the day and night indicator especially how it done with sun and moon cutou
but totally agree.. the movement was a low point for me too.. nothing special about it. not clear from the pictures, but does it have better movement finishing than the usual man produced one.. if yes, I would have assumed they give it a new movement designation... so now I assume its the usual move
besides the unique shape and hands, the movement finishing, cloud shaped bridges, interior angle bevelling.. all sublime. I wonder if Mr Michel Parmigiani has personally worked on these peices. I like MAD2 better than MAD1 as it's more wearable. I am still debating how frequently am I going to use it? Any experience to share please.. how many other watches you have and when does MAD2 get its turn? Tomba
Seeing the photos on websites doesn't do much.. this closeup in the natural light shows the complex dial design. We all know that fabulous finishing of the movement in the back. Wonderful piece. thanks for the beautiful pictures.
