and decided to let his watchmaker replace the crown for whatever reason. He also did not request that any replaced parts be returned to him. Unfortunately that crown is now gone. I am not sure but I assume the crown tube was also replaced for whatever reason.
I suggest finding references that you like visually first and then learning everything you can about them. Once you are confident in your knowledge than choose a fine example of the reference you love.
