F.P. Journe: I had

The same experience. I wandered into hour glass and they randomly had an aluminum cts sitting there from owners collection for display (this is q3 2021 so well discontinued) . I tried it and my mind did a double take - I was totally blown away not only by the lightness but by how much I liked it giv

Seiko: Agreed!

The time keeping on the high beat movements is crazy good, apparently they haven’t even made a modern watch as accurate. I was very impressed. I also couldn’t believe how fast and smooth the quick set date was on my Jan 1967 5722. Nicer than any date change on my modern watches.

Seiko: Very nice!

Obvious question, why did you get two of the same special? And thoughts on more colourful straps for these white dials?

Seiko: My budding vintage GS collection

Recently stumbled upon the Grand Seiko guy’s wonderful website/substack and the Seiko guy’s complete guide to vintage GS webpage and have completely gone head first into this little area of the watch world. Had I found this stuff out during the pandemic I’m sure I’d own 20 by now as they’re so inter

Or maybe it’s just cause I just came across a bunch of Seikos with a lot of facets on t

Seiko: 61GS

I have two 61GS on the way, one a cross hair dial 6145-8000 but the other the more oddball 6146-8050. It shouldn’t be my kind of watch at all but the whole combination seems kinda retro cool and an example with a decent dial came up so I just took it. I’m interested to see what it’s like once it’s i

Seiko: Love it!

Bought my first vintage GS this month. Was blown away by the quality, especially for around 1500 bucks. Bought 3 more. Can’t wait for them to arrive! And ur right, everyone thinks of dials when they think GS. But for vintage GS it is all about the case, and for that photos truly don’t do it justice.
