The absence of a date window is a big plus. Now do it in salmon!😉
On the wrist it seemed okay. It wears relatively flat at 9.35mm and I feel comfortable wearing watches up to 42mm. Though I prefer 38mm for this type of dress watch.
One nice thing is that the strap is surprisingly higher quality than the oem straps that Longines typically uses in this price range.
I hope you will post photos of the one you choose.
My pleasure. It’s an attractive dial.
I would agree on the similarity. Although that tends to be the norm among watch brands, including many of the top houses. But given Longines' long history of watchmaking and its extensive catalog, Naoya Hida may be not be entirely without sin.
In fact I just read a Hodinkee article on this watch that makes reference to a vintage Longines pocket watch with a similarly engraved dial. So perhaps in this case the old saying is true that "There's nothing new under the sun."
I agree that it's not perfect. Ideally I would have preferred a 38mm case size for this style dress watch. But it's a pretty decent effort for the price point.
It is a clean, simple and classic dial, which is nice.
Agreed. Longines is to be commended for listening to collectors. To be sure, this isn't haute horology. But I think it's a great look and value for the $.
