The building was converted to a hotel couple of years ago. I lived just opposite it. Kaartinkaupunki district (literally guard's town; the building on the right was originally the barracks for the Russian imperial army in the 19th century; nowadays it's the ministry of defence) is a very nice place

The medal is actually the Finnish Olympic Cross of Merit which was an order created for the Helsinki Summer Olympics 1952 and it has the lion from the coat of arms of Finland. I don't know why they chose to have this symbol in a watch commemorating the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.
