This is a watch that I've also desired for quite some time - but I have seen a couple scenarios where the DLC would flake off... The 4500V has becoming increasingly scarce at ADs and boutiques ... I know the nearest boutique for me has a fairly decent waitlist on them now.

I've never seen IWC as a shiny movement brand - similar to Rolex (although, I'd say IWC is finished better than Rolex movements)... In same cases, I've been downright shocked at how poor the movement finishing on an IWC could be (prior Spitfire Chrono)... I'll never forget when this picture was post

I usually have it on either the bracelet, or a leather strap - but mix it up every once in awhile

This watch is going to cost you thousands and months to get back to normal - I'd push for a 100% refund and find a better example. Sorry this happened to you - no idea why butchers like this work on Pateks... Can you imagine the damage he's created to other pieces that have gone unnoticed.

And I feel very similarly to you .. It’s not the most expensive watch in my collection, but absolutely one of my favourites and will never leave.

I'm completely in love with this reference - I'm certain I will add it to my collection one day. Wear it in good health!!
