Omega: Big Blue with an open back

I have this beautiful Omega 176.004 the Big Blue, that my father gifted to me in the very early 80’s. I’m an earlier post I reported how it went back to service after 40 years running on its own. It always bothered me that the watch being as old as it is, has no see through back. I know the movement

Ulysse Nardin: Still one of the most ingenious QP out there.

Ludwig Oechslin is one of the titans of horology. The beautiful simplicity of his QP arrangement is astounding. Eight gears that it takes! Date change is not instantaneous, but it works back and forth. See this website to admire simplicity at work: And that mesmerizing blue! Love forever! My first

Hi, This is my entry to the IWC crowd. Freshly off the FedEx truck. Spitfire Perpetual Chronograph digital day and month in steel. Really mesmerizing, simple and uncluttered. Horological Meandering: I am partial

I love perpetual calendars, BUT only the ones that actually spell the date out. To me dates that are indicated by hands just do not do it. All those subdials with one or two info items are just too busy. From your collection the UN take the prize ( I have the same perpetual myself ). It is the most

Omega: Smooth

Though it took 7.5 months, but it had to go to Switzerland. I had a Blancpain at service this year too, for almost the same length, that went overseas too. Omega sent back all the parts that they changed out, and their "transport " box is a blast! So now I have the original hands, if I ever sell the

Omega: Big Blue

One of the most classic Omega 1040 watches the Big Blue is back from its much delayed (40 years) service in Switzerland. Uniquely clunky and most unique and original. A design that stood the test of time extremely well. Omega 1040 the special derivative of the timeless best automatic chronograph eve
