Independents: I buy and like watches for the aesthetic and comfort,

Price is irrelevant. The commander shade is one beautiful retro watch. 37 mm is perfect too. One thing need to be improved though, the very small crown is difficult to wind. Unless the watch to be worn daily or kept on a winder, winding process is painful to my finger.

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Congratulation. A rare and handsome watch. I almost got it but got an IWC instead.

How is the alarm sound? I recall the sound is very loud because of the double caseback and titanium case.

Cartier: Sorry for the mistake.

The piaget movement is in the XL Louis cartier. The large model use JLC calibre 846, a small hand wound.

Horological Meandering: Bought 4, sold 2. It may not seems a lot, but certainly much busier than ever.

Bought : IWC GST Alarm , preowned 1999 Panerai PAM048, pre owned 2015 Tudor advisor 10050, preowned 1983 Rolex explorer 114270, pre owned 2003 Sold : Longines Heritage 1969 Mido Commander 37mm Next year target : a GS manual winding. And then I plan to stop (but we all know it is a joke ))

Cartier: This is the Tank Louis Cartier Large model, right? manual winding Piaget caliber. I think the size is spot on.

There is a XL size and its way too big. There is also Tank Solo large model which is also too large. Finally there is a quartz tank solo large model (which i sold few months ago), because it was too small. The one you bought is perfect IMO. it is my only gold watch, super elegant and timeless.

Rolex: WRUW this week? My new purchase : 1983 Tudor Advisor

Found one in near mint condition, without box and papers. At 35 mm, it is the smallest watch in my collection, but wears nicely on my wrist, maybe because of the silver dial and thin bezel. The watch came with matching old Rolex bracelet...yes, that old, crappy and rattly bracelet . Although its fin

Ulysse Nardin: That is a beauty. UN and GP are among the extremely under rated brands

37mm is perfect. I really wish more brands would make more watches in 36-38 mm.

Horological Meandering: A very good question. Several times I also faced this dilemma:

I want a gold watch, but a gold watch with special movement or from a high horology such as the "Holy Trinity " and even Grand seiko and rolex, is getting ridiculously expensive. So I have contemplated to buy gold watch from lower tier of brand such a Frederique Constant, TAG Heuer, Baume mercier, H
