Horological Meandering: Reports like this are unfortunate. I would prefer to see a broader statistical data set.

$hit happens. I could cherry pick one day in my marital relationship, and everyone would agree we are heading for a divorce. However, that one anomalous day in 10-years is not indicative of a trend. Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate the information and I file it away. One data point doesn’t get me to

Rolex: Happy Father’s Day! Shouldn’t it be Father’s Week? We have to deal with both the Wife (or Ex-Wife) and the kids!!

Don’t get me wrong, we should celebrate Mother’s Month, too! Wishing one Father to another, the health and wealth of your children. God bless.

Officine Panerai: The 243 has a varied reported thickness ranging 18.5-19mm thick versus the 24 at 15.5mm.

That may be due to the extra depth rating of 1000m for the 243.

Officine Panerai: The 243 must be put into context of the time.

I may be wrong, but I think that this was first 1950 case design released by modern Panerai. It had all the sexy curves and angles that the “blockish” Bettarini case did not. Though at 44mm, the thickness made the watch sit high on the wrist. Definitely not a watch that would easily slide under a sh
