While my sizing window is still pretty big, I think my favorite has to be 39mm. I just got my IWC 3705 back from service and it is by far my most comfortable wearing watch I own. I am a little more lenient on thickness of course since the 3705 is a chrono.

I personally prefer a nice bourbon myself, especially when editing.
