Blancpain:

Ah that’s interesting to know. I’ve only ever noticed versions with the Waltham signed backs and Waltham signed rotors. I wonder if the ones with the BP signed backs also have a BP signed rotor. It’s always good to have an understanding which combinations are correct.

Blancpain:

Shouldn’t it have a Waltham signed caseback ? That is what I’ve seen on the other examples.

Blancpain:

But the material costs between 9k and 18k are likely under $2k for even a heavy case, so it’s not such a big influence in terms of manufacturing cost.

Automotive: I thought

I have one of the latter ones that came from the family of the original owner, who was gifted it at his wedding by his bes

Obviously not NOS, but I am very happy to have found such a great condition HF Chronometer still with the original strap and Sun buckle. I searched and couldn’t find another with the same sparkle dial. Is there any reference material available on these ? I can find many threads with inidividual exam

IWC: I find myself in the same situation…

… and completely agree that it’s just not worth throwing money at this problem as an all correct watch with original Delrin bracelet is only a few thousand bucks. And anyway, the starting point for me is one of the most battered 3701 cases I’ve seen. I’ll likely make a similar case mod to Bill, or p
