Rolex: A Different point of view...

Perhaps as an exercise we should walk back 18 - 24 months to when the global economic outlook was beginning to darken and fear of uncertainty and unknowns became the prevalent theme. Brexit, Populism, Trump, Tariff wars, falling Chinese GDP estimates and constant news about declining Swiss Watch exp

Food & Wine: Quince...reminds me of The Owl and the Pussycat...

Last verse... “Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling Your ring?” Said the Piggy, “I will.” So they took it away, and were married next day By the turkey who lives on the hill. They dined on mince and slices of quince, Which they ate with a runcible spoon; And hand in hand, on the edge o

Patek Philippe: Two great purchases

A Patek and a Bugaboo. I think the Bugaboo is pretty close on the Patek in terms of engineering, reliability, aesthetics and usefulness. I got a Bugaboo for child #1 and before my first Patek. I’m on Patek #4 and child #3 and I have the same Bugaboo. Does 700 miles a year on average. So it’s done ab

Patek Philippe: Just the opposite...

When I'm going to Switzerland with a plan...I go with no watches and leave with a couple. Ha ha ha. Taking watches to Switzerland is like taking ice to Lapland.

Rolex: Your question is too difficult...

I will just say I took the easy way out and bought both X2. 16700, 16610, 16610 LV and recently, the BLNR. Love them all. I'm no pilot but I do fly frequently, and I'm no saturation diver but I do dive frequently. So I enjoy my watches. And I have descended to 145 feet with the 16700.

Patek Philippe: Agree with Mr. Red

Case looks polished and edges seem soft. I have a 3940J. Mine has hallmarks on the lugs. I don't see any here. Also, does anybody know where in the production run the watch was sold with a deployment clasp? If and when you decided to put a deployment clasp on...you may be in for some sticker shock.

Horological Meandering: Wempe...Good People

I have stopped in numerous times for adjustments and other minor requests. I even had two batteries replaced for my kids watches. And they have never once charged me for anything. I even had an espresso and some Lindt chocolate while I waited. It's the attitude and quality service of the people ther

Patek Philippe: I live in NYC and...

...even I don't care for the NYC skyline. It means nothing to me to see it on this World Timer or any watch for that matter. Perhaps they should spend more time and effort on more variations of the guilloche dial like the 5110P or some variations on enamel, cloissone dials.
