Lange does the same. Its part of the standard procedure to "wash" the movement. The drawback is that it get rid of the patina.

Audemars Piguet: Agreed

When AP first launch ceramic bezels in the earlier offshore models, they use a matte finishing on the surface. Then it's replaced with in my opinion, much visually appealing straight line finishing, that really plays beautifully with light. Actually, I think AP polishing has also improved though I c

I am not surprised. They are known to give bad service. Got a run in with their boutique in MBS few years back and end up having to complain to Patek regional office.
