Food & Wine: Yes, the prices have risen so much over the years

especially Californian cabernets. I recalled buying my first Opus One-1983-,for what seemed a fairly pricy $50 then,at Ghirendelli Square I have not purchased any since the prices escalated .Still enjoying the lesser wines like Chateau Montelena, Stag's Leap at more earthbound prices.

Food & Wine: Not surprised that wine prices are falling during this period

...and will continue for a while. That's some storage room you have there, with recuperation apparatus, lol! Unfortunately,my wine merchants have yet to send me offers that indicate substantial drop in prices---still waiting! Prices have escalated so much in the past few decades, via supply, demand,HYPE
