i don't know how many dealers have 5970G/R in stock for the moment, as normally they wouldn't put those high-end models in show case. based on what i have been talking with "powerful" ADs in tokyo, i think they are receiving 4-5 pieces at most, 5970R/G, per 1 year, and they have NO prblem to sell th
grey dealers buy one from owners at 30% above MSRP and sells it at 45%+. yes it's hard to buy one from AD, but there's certain amount of supply for sure so some collectors can get one easily whilst newbie can't. it's just the same story in other countries, right? HB
i saw 5396 EVERY AD in tokyo, and think you can buy one every time you want to, by the price lower than MSRP, at grey dealer as well. if i wonder which model i should go for, i'd choose rarer one, which would fund my future purchase. so don't be naive, get 5712/1A.
and for me as well, 5960P is the most favorite patek so far, even after learning this failure report. concerning this, pls keep us informed, if there's any new info. TIA HB
i got 5980 last November, which was a first batch i believe. it works perfectly except that chrono hand didn't come back to zero just once. this was reported in the other forum, "reset button doesn't work correctly if you push it softly..." but i never experienced / heard of this "stuck" problem. ha
i'd go for 5065, as it's the hardest to come by among them. as for movement issue, there're not many things to talk about as those movements are simply mass production for patek, not rare.
