Horological Meandering: One my favorite watch since I bought it new in 2011

And one of the few I never considered selling. Funny thing is that it’s also the watch which gave me the most troubles. First watch I received stopped working after 2h. My retailer took it back and offered a replacement. Replacement had an issue on the case ( sub par polishing ) which I realized whe

Blancpain: Fifty shades of Orange

Dear fellow Purists, Here are a few shots of my first Blancpain, Fifty No Rad, just for the pleasure of sharing. Strange thing with this watch is that it is far from perfect (especially the crappy rotating bezel "click", the spring on mine broke on its first hour in the swimming pool... Hand finishi

Horological Meandering: Blue is all I need

Hi, For me blue is really a must on a watch... But it should be obtained with the only acceptable process: flame! Chemical blueing is just a poor imitation and only makes me think about cheap chinese productions... If not blueing it in the right way, why blueing it all? For me a good "polished" is 1

Horological Meandering: Will never wear YG...

Or so was I saying to myself before this: IMHO YG is awful when associated with a sport watch, but can be a wonderful combo with a vintage / dressy piece. Sure that with the new vintage tendency we'll see more and more YG in the coming months. Best regards Seb

Horological Meandering: As a time-only watch lover

Here is my own selection: # 1) Breguet La Tradition, taking its roots in 2 centuries old watchmaking traditions but also very modern in some aspects. Perfect with a suit, great with casual wear, and not so expensive compared to its pair #2) Roger Dubuis Much More. This watch is stunning: it has all

Breguet: When Abraham-Louis meets Schwartzy...

Hi everybody, What I like most in horology is the diversity of the designer's visions... A small 11mm difference in size will translate in a huge difference in the emotions you get while wearing the piece. Here is the 37mm La Tradition next to the 48mm AP Schwartzy Legacy. As radically different as

Breguet: yes, same leather

Yes, I requested them to make it from the same leather as the original OEM strap, but it was a hard decision as they also had a rather nice dark burgundy alligator... maybe for my next purchase

Breguet: Finally got a strap worth the Tradition

Hi, I don't know for you but I've always found the Breguet OEM strap a bit on the cheap side regarding their construction. The wax on the edges peels off quite quickly, and the inner lining is not really sexy... After a long search I finally settled for a custom made Camille Fournet. CF might be les

Breguet: Thanks to everybody for your warm welcome!

To answer Nomilktoday's question the wearing comfort is great: the watch being quite light you don’t feel it’s presence. It’s my “daily beater” and it’s a real pleasure to have it on the wrist all day long. It is so great that this is the first watch that I keep e

Breguet: I had it on the wrist two weeks ago

Hi, I spent maybe 20 min with it on my wrist while in the Vendome boutique in Paris. Frankly speaking, I do not think that it's an interesting update: with the big dial aperture the watch looked quite big for me, even if I'm familiar and confortable with 47mm Panerai. It brings nothing but changing
