I do prefer the larger case of the 7337, and I also like the asymmetric placement of the small second subdial, it complements the off-centre chapter ring.
Just dug up my computer files. 3697 BA/BR/BB (200 pieces each) and 3690 PT (75 pieces) were made simply for the Hong Kong market, and not to commemorate the 1997 handover as I have wrongly stated earlier. Another reference 3999 BA (97 pieces) were made in 1997 for the Hong Kong market to commemorate
Dial is silvered gold. The limited BA and BB models come with display back (3697). Regular production models In BA, BR, and BB have solid case back (3690). Attached is an old pic of my 3690BR.
As far as I could remember 3697 was made around 1996 for the Hong Kong market to commemorate the 1997 handover of Hong Kong from Britain to China. Two hundred pieces were made in yellow gold. White gold versions were also produced, although I am unsure about the number, and 75 were made in platinum
