Rolex 8171 “Padellone”

My newest pickup, a Rolex 8171 “Padellone”. In my view, midcentury complicated Rolex - and particularly, the triple calendars - are among the most gorgeous watches in existence. It’s always been a dream of mine to buy either a 8171 or 6062. The 8171, once

Thank you Kev.

But this is just a fraction of my collection. I had been collecting watches over 35 years and I have had them all. So 6062, COMEX . PN’s , military sub , vintage Daytonas all zenith all submariners DRSD , red submariners. The list goes on and on. The 6263

An overlooked classic?

I am surprised at how few Cellini Moonphase watches I see "in the wild". The concept of Rolex has been, to offer purpose built watches – the Submariner for divers, the Explorer for adventurers, the GMT-Master for travelers, the Daytona for race drivers, t

What a great topic folks.

Love all the replies. It is incredible to hear other collectors/enthusiasts describe what is exactly my journey over the past 35 years. I was obsessed with Rolex from a very young boy. This obsession in my late 20’s turned to the deep dark world of Vintag

I sadly own no vintage Rolex because they are way way out of my price league. the 6062 is a dream watch that I would like to own but my finances won't allow me ever to buy one

I will probably try to purchase a 1680 from the year 1978 (which is my birth year) or 16800 and for the other vintage models probably gmt 1675/16750 and a date just 1600/16000. I think those are among the essential watches from Rolex that are still afford

New to me Rolex 6062

Just picked up a Rolex S/S black dial 6062. The watch is in working condition with obvious wear to the case, non brand strap, non-brand buckle. The mov't has been "worked on" by a lesser watchmaker and the dial and moonphase disk are scratched. The questi
