The classic Explorer models (this along with the 1016) are my favourite watch designs of all time. Maybe next year I will try to get my hands on a good, honest 1016, it is my personal grailwatch and after a bit of consolidation of my collection still doab
The more I see the numerals, the more I appreciate the quirks of the font. While the 1016 would be a great one and done, I feel this one is an awesome addition. Congratulations 👏
For tritium fans it remains the most affordable while not giving up anything in terms of water resistance and day to day resistance. I yet have to see a 14270 turning to yellow or orange like the 1016 or submariners, a pale yellow is the best I have seen
So many amazing watches shared by our members. But these vintage Explorers, to me, are superlative. I toyed with buying a full set 1016 last year but it was too much for what it was (thanks to the council of a certain Parisian Counselor who advised me 😁).
I don't have one yet but I am saving for one at the moment, hopefully next year I have the funds to buy one. They are probably the most "un-Rolex" Rolex model and that is what I like so much about them. Simple and IMHO the most beautiful and well-balanced
I have a 7206 bracelet from 1966, with 58 end links. Somehow my 1016's push pins (23-9293) won't go through. They appear to be too thick. Anyone know what the problem is? I thought the 7206 / 58 bracelet was specifically used by the 1016?
