Hmm, good points. With machine finishing being so good in 2026, Rolex may be seeking to have the same visual finishing (via naked eye) as the mass produced Trilogy retail brands.

Surely the mainstream brands use machines too, so they know what their future has for the Big Box Stores. This could be why true hand crafting and art of finishing is now being prized over the 1970s brands like my grandfather's old watch? My wife's 36mm R

Very nice to have a family heirloom

to pass down one day. If it were me, I’d find the same watch your mother left you and buy it so both daughters could have the same model. The only way I can think of to be fair on who would receive your mother’s actual watch is a coin flip or something si

Congratulations on both counts!

Continuing the legacy with your mom’s cherished watch and also scoring the Land-Dweller! I purposely stay away from visiting my AD regarding this watch, but I have very high respect for Rolex due to the technical aspects of this movement and the overall p

Meaningful lineage from my late mother’s oyster perpetual to my op land-dweller !

When land-dweller came out I had a feeling it seemed like my late mother’s one and only Rolex because of the fluted bezel. Only now I realized both were from the op line ! With humble beginnings, my father in his 70s finally bought my mom a Rolex with his

Rolex 7135 Movement Horopornography

36mm Rolex Land-Dweller. Enjoy . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . NOTE: See the little 'indented dots' at the lower-left arm (and a touch less on the lower right arm) on the balance wheel, am guessing weight balance by laser or ????

Wrist pic etc.

The new Rolex green box looks very nice, i like the deeper patterned waves on the top. The Land-Dweller is lovely, comfy, wraps reeeeeally nicely on the wrist, and Rolex reeeeeeally put in great effort into movement decoration. The LD looks the part of hi

Some girls have all the luck....

Never give up hope.... my wife's 36mm, Lady Luck. 😍 PS: If there's one constant in life, it's my Muse's consistent Lady Luck. It's a real thing, and is wonderful. While she was being ever-so-kind helping our (my) 90 y/o dad this weekend, Nick from Mayors

Finally had a chance to handle

the Land-Dweller last weekend, at Wagner, Vienna. Thank you very much, Mr. T, for your time, professional input, and generous hospitality. While I buried one shot in a previous post, here comes the series. I found case, bracelet and look&feel very convinc

Great post Bruno. Many start with Big Box Store Brands; i started with various Patek Philippe, then after retiring into sunny beach shoreline the Monkey Suit went away. Hurray!!!

My best days weren’t behind me when I “retired-ish”—they were just beginning! That’s when Rolex entered the picture. Not for hype, but for what really matters: durability, waterproofness, and the freedom to wear a watch that thrives at the beach as much a
