A very thoughtful gift from a friend. noval

A couple months ago, while just starting my long road to recovery, I was browsing online and found a jeweler friend of mine selling a vintage Rado DiaStar. I've always had a soft spot for vintage Rados, especially these DiaStars with their very prominent

And now for something completely different : the Rado Anatom.

I must confess that I always had a sweet spot for some of Rado's design icons from the 70ties and 80ties : the Sintra,Ceramica,Diastar ...and Anatom. In these days I was a young man and could by no means afford any of these watches. I was glad to see that

For the hot and humid dog days of summer...

I submit my RADO. It is a DiaStar DiaMaster Diver. What makes it a good choice? Waterproof - As it’s a Diver with a screw-down crown. Rugged - Because it is a Quartz movement. Accurate - Again, a Quartz movement. Scratchproof - It’s made of Tungsten Carbi

Rado DiaStar Original Skeleton

I decided to visit my local Rado boutique to have a look at the new DiaStar Skeleton as I have always been intrigued by the DiaStar with its unique look. A watch which looks visually big but wears very compactly. And that 60s retro looking case which at o

......... it looks bulky but it is actually not bulky, it is not heavy and it wears super comfortable on the original Rado/NSA bracelet with flex clasp. As many of you will surely know, the DiaStar is celebrating this year its 60 years anniversary and a s

Rado DiaStar … a (controversial) design icon, a …

They don’t make this anymore

A Rado Diastar from around 15 years ago, with a dial surfaced with real diamonds and a mechanical movement. I checked the Rado website and found this is not produced anymore. With a scratch proof ceramic case, the watch looks like new and is still worn oc

I have a couple quartz watches, mostly inexpensive funky vintage pieces, just because of the look.

But I do have a tungsten carbide and 18K Rado DiaStar from 1999. Being TC it's practically indestructible although very heavy for it's size. Still looks like the day I bought it.

Good morning

My father is the original owner of my old Datejust (he passed it on to me when I turned 50, 16 years ago). Other than that, his daily beater is an old Rado Diastar, but as his lifestyle today is “less active” he can not keep it running. So during the late
