Patek journey (part 2) Thorstein's Simple Epiphany

My love of Patek started with misunderstanding and a heavily bruised ego. A young boy doesn't have to be convinced that a girl is pretty. He knows it because his sensory criteria are simply and completely satisfied, he sees her day-in and day-out and that

This deserve a dedicated discussion

I think that this is the latest years' trend, great finishing and nothing more. The only watchmaker who's done something really be is Stephen McDonnell with his perpetual and "chrono", while Zenith and Frederique Constant have introduced oscillators.

I remember when it was about how many tourbillons can you fit into a movement/dial?

In the last years the new trend focuses (too much) on finishing. It's rare to see a new escapement and most of the time it's just an update or minor improvement of old escapements. Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely a great quality because hand finish
