Favorite ?.. Well, they all are close to my heart but the black & white E855 („Ebony“, because of the center brown/ wood indices within the metal ones), the E872 and likely the blue/blue E875 (Speedbeat) are dear pieces, most with a little special story,

Blast from the past.. A glimpse into the watchbox of Funky Memovoxes..

Team, 😊 As several of you might remember, one of the themes of my watch collecting has been the group of Funky Memovox watches, mainly from the 70ies. Thus, I have been thinking to share a view among some members of the MMV family, which have accumulated

Replying to myself, 14 years later... Here is another variation of the stainless steel memovox E873, less frequent than the white / blue or the orange / blue variations. This dial has the blue scale dial which definitely reminds us of the E855 with so-cal

Actually your watch is from 1967 (so it doesn't predate the E855)

If I am not mistaken, your watch dates from 1967 (serial number 1052XXX). This would be quite unusual for an E853 as indeed very few were produced after the introduction of the Memovox Auto Date aka E855 in 1959. E853 are typically in the 700XXX to 800XXX
