Patek Philippe's "complicated" retrograde perpetual calendars

As a complement to my post from yesterday concerning the "simple" retrograde perpetual calendars , here are the "complicated" ones, meaning the ones including a minute repeater complication and, for some of them, also a tourbillon. I have also dedicated a

Patek Philippe's retrograde perpetual calendars

Note that this thread includes only the "simple" retrograde perpetual calendars, meaning those with no other complications. Therefore, the references with a minute repeater and a tourbillon (5013, 5016, 5213, 5216, 5217, 5316) are deliberately lefts aside

A pretty good year

I found 2016 quite a disappointment. 2017 much better, so my top 5 this year: My favorite is the 5078G, which I find to be the nicest variation of this reference so far, well done. 5316P a beautyful replacement of the 5216. 5372P-010 is amazing too, thank

Well, I understand that the profile of watch onwers has evolved quite a bit

and it people looking for bigger cases have appeared to represent quite a wide demand. However, I appreciated that Patek has always kept szes rather low compared to the average trend while providing smaller cases on the one hand and around 41/42 on the ot

Most desirable watch ever

Opinions differ and it shows again in this matter. I have been into watches for several years, but never felt so much affection for a piece like for the 5159 (while unfortunately it is beyond reach for the time being). It looks and feels unique and I enti

Large and Oversized Vintage Patek Philippe Wristwatches

Introduction Let me put the things straight. Modern oversized watches are not my cup of tea. Anything above a 40 mm diameter hardly gets my attention. I still remember that, 15 years, ago the 37 mm 5107 reference was called the ‘Calatrava Grande Taille‘ i

Review: The understated and pure classic Patek Philippe 5496R Perpetual Calendar

The new 2015 Patek Philippe 5496R was not the kind of Patek Philippe watch that I was closely looking at. When considering perpetual calendar, annual calendar or 3-hands models, the 5296, 5396 and 5496 references had an integrated case shape (including lu

the 5216...

is a minute repeater tourbillon perpetual calendar with retrograde hands....replaced the 5016 which had the same function. i think watch preference depends on the person. some people, no matter how wealthy, could never fathom spending over $10 on a watch.

im no investment guru,

but if he were to consult me about Patek, I would certainly steer him away from a 5216. 5016 hands down a better more balanced timepiece. When it comes to highly complicated pateks, there used to be many good choices. These days the decisions when buying
