Ref. 3449 - The three examples

It is believed that only three examples of the Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar ref. 3449 were produced. All were manufactured in 1961 and bear consecutive movement and case numbers . Their common characteristics are as follows: A yellow gold case crafte

Here they are: the three killer Patek 3971 ’s.

As promised, all three metals of the desireable 3971. Recently re-united. White, rose, yellow.

Of all the references the 5970 series had the most “commissions”

The ref 5004 closely follows then the 5070. Some are genuinely unique dials but some where made in a very small series. However, to put all this into perspective I predict that only 50-100 pieces were made. Consider approximately 3000 pieces were made, th

How 'special' or how 'overrated' is a unique dial ??

I like your enthusiasm, Count!

I personally feel more attracted to the 5078, but I understand the appeal of this new 7047G. And because of the absence of a date window, it is indeed a wonderful variant of the 6007 design. Best, Emmanuel

The best repeater since 5078: it is a triumph.

Best 6007 design, too at the same time. Never liked the 6007 A, the 6007 G a lot, but this one is the perfect design. This repeater demonstrates great life style, celebrates lightness and beauty of life. A dream piece on par with a 5078 R.

These appear to be in the ballpark of secondary market prices.

Many sites inflate the price by at least 10-15% giving them a margin to negotiate. And when it comes to patek, unless it’s a nautilus or aquanaut, or a reference that was undervalued like a 3940 or 3970, prices are fairly flat. For example, I’ve been foll

Are auction prices 'real'?

I was looking for some articles on the Patek ref. 5135P Annual Calendar. I came across a Sotheby's listing for an auction in September/October of 2025, so not too long ago. This one hammered at 25,400 Euros, or about $30,000 U.S. That seemed incredibly lo
