The price on the crash is nonsensical

Don’t get me wrong, the crash has been and will always be a special watch, not just for Cartier, but as a unique creation of the 60s. But there are plenty of other brands that have been unique shaped cases, like VC for example, some of them have significa

It was interesting when it was a novelty, something vintage or some modern but rarely seen.

But now it’s been overdone, which is maybe an odd thing to say about any watch given most of them exist in abundance. For some reason with the Crash my feelings are “not another dude with a crash” every time I see one.

Cartier Crash.

A kind of magic mushroom, this watch. A Dali's watch. Best, Nicolas

My opinion has changed as the data has changed...

I've dispatched my AI Girl Fridays to watch the various resellers. And frankly, I'm playing the games against them and signaling low-bids and no-bid "hearts" on various reseller forums. Many of the accounts are new hype-chasers that are going to be watchi

I had a big crash back in 2018.

2015 F20 BMW 120d, hit a tree full-on at +/- 60/80 kph (net). Moments before impact I was 100% sure this was the end, I couldn't believe my eyes after the crash I still had my legs and limbs attached to my body. I even jumped out of the car ... adrenaline

I couldn't agree more, so far as deisign is concerned.

As the happy owner of a different limited edition Arabic numeral Santos-Dumont and as a retired design professional, I admire Cartier's longstanding excellence (even supremacy?) when it comes to watch design, and the Santos models in all their forms exemp

For those who appreciate true value

You could also spend several hundred thousand... apparently even close to two million ... on a Cartier Crash, chasing an absurdly overhyped market. And what do you end up with? A rather mediocre movement housed in a distorted case. Any skilled goldsmith c

Was more a general comment on the advances in automotive safety 😊

Crash protection has improved in leaps and bounds and so has the overall handling safety. I do not think the Opel was close to being a widowmaker back in the day but light cars, heavy right feet and more enthusiasm than skill led to many a one in the ditc

One approach to safety is mass but I T-boned a mid 60s Lincoln Continental when it suddenly turned left in front of my '72 TE-27 Corolla. It's owners manual mentioned how

Toyota considered crash safety when designing it. My car suffered considerable damage. A stiff neck and some minor bruises for me. Certainly an element of luck involved. My Corolla coupe was repairable and I enjoyed it for another 80,000 miles. It was sim

Reality completely gone, the insane overhyped Cartier auction market.

Does anyone have an explanation for the insanely high prices most Cartier pieces achieved at yesterday’s Sotheby’sauction? In my opinion, Cartier produces fairly average work …and I don’t mean that negatively. I own a Santos myself, but it’s nothing more
