Since you think of radiomir, I would go for a classic that looks very different from your luminor, I would go with a California dial.

Now, they are lots of options, the new 8 days, smaller size, but they don't come out cheap, or the phased out limited editions such as the 249, 448, 47mm, or there is the 424 (with date or without). You can find those quiet easely and well priced If you a

Hi Sergio, I am a jewelry designer by trade, and aesthetic is very important to me.

As for the 424, the version without date keep the beautiful simetry of that dial, and the golden hands on that brownish-black dial, with the assolutamente strap that narrows to the buckle is also a preference I have, it looks more sophisticated. I would h

At the end they are all hommage, none are the real deal...

So, do you want a die hard "wannabe-replica", like the Pam249, Pam448 looking close but still miles away from the real deal... or something like the Pam424 that takes reference from the Radiomir 1936, without taking it too seriously, all aspect considered

A Little of my Panerai Adventure

Some old pictures from a small part of what was my Panerai collection, I was browsing some older pictures this morning. Below are the 372, 448, 190 and 318. The 372, the last Panerai I purchased. This was the first run, with the Plexi. Very cool watch, ju

Always a favourite.

I missed this one first time round, but I did buy the 448 when it was released. Which I now recall was the last Panerai I purchased (for years I thought it was the 372 which took that place but I guess not). I think I wore the 448 twice maybe, I was at th

I was looking this up tonight as I got very interested in this topic, but there seem to have been more in recent years...

At a quick search among the California dials, we can find at least three more references: PAM 629 (a limited edition of 300 from 2015), ref. 718 (50 pieces from 2016), and ref. 448 (750 pieces from 2012). So maybe now the topic is a bit less interesting..

Yeah, there were untenable promises...

...that Panerai made to the collector group and the group took Panerai at its word. The suggestion that the Cali 249 would not be repeated was one of the greatest disappointments when the 448 came out. I understand the frustration as Panerai overpromised

I really enjoy Panerai

I fell for the brand when I was young and saw them in a few well-known movies. I didn't care about their placement in the movies; rather, the dial and watch design just captured my heart as soon as I saw the watch. Years later, I happened upon them while

It's a big watch, ok....

it fills your wrist as never before. The TOO big "effect" only comes from the fact that in the...world out there...people are used to watches that can be found inside an Easter EGG! Purists and Panerai lovers would indeed frown upon this model, because of
