The other magical encounter among the watches I was able to try on in Paris last week was this Patek Philippe Chronometro Gondolo ref. 5098R-001 . I asked to try it on because I really love the " Gondolo & Labouriau " part of Patek Philippe's history, but I didn't expect to be so overwhelmed . Dated

Cloudy but a lovely morning. Today it was the 16710 that swam with me. Although I love natos on a diver, I think this Rolex looks best on bracelet.

Just got my Tellurium - a pain to set but a lovely watch to wear and interesting to look at. The aventurine dial is a universe within a watch!

This is the first generation. A wonderful watch, aesthetically, front and back. A pity the governor is too loud. It kills the sound of the minute repeater. I sold it some 19 years ago to get the JLC MMR in titanium. But I loved it. Best, Nicolas
