Saw 36 mm Explorer I 124270 Today - Opinions Sought Please!

Hope all is well friends! In the past I owned the 39 mm version of this watch but found it wore too large for my wrist, especially the lug to lug. Today I saw the 36 mm Explorer I 124270 in the metal for the first time. Initial impressions are strong. My biggest concern is case thickness at 11.5 mm
