Audemars Piguet: Quality control?

I've owned many watches and still have most of them, the AP's have given me more headaches than the others. VC, AP, and Rolex, all are beautifully crafted watches, but no matter what you about them, the Rolexes I've owned are tops, NEVER had a mechanical problem with any of them and I've had about a

Audemars Piguet: AP problems...

I've had a Royal Oak Chronograph for about 12 years, 2 or 3 months after I purchased the watch (New), it just stopped for an unknown reason. It was returned to AP and they replaced the movement and have not had any problems since. There seems to be an abnormal number of mechanical problems with AP w

Rolex: Size?

As you say the one mm difference is almost undetachable, but it's the balance of the design overall that truly makes the difference. Also, the new movement and the new bracelets construction all add up a much more attractive product, but these are my observations and appeal to me, but they must also

Rolex: Congrats but...

All Rolexes are beautiful, but some more beautiful than others. The DD2 for me was out of proportion to the original 36mm, that being said since the new 40mm on it's way the proportions are truer to the original design. I have a new 40mm in yellow on order, but I've always been partial to rose and w

Audemars Piguet: In depth report...

Thanks Michael for your very comprehensive report on these "new" OffShores. I particularly like the Elephant nickname, very appropriate and delicious color combination.

Audemars Piguet: My favorite AP...

Ever! The one thing I really like about it is the bezel and the different bolts, screws, etc. I for one would love to these adopted to a few other models and even the entire OffShore line. Jeff

Audemars Piguet: Suspect movements...

I have a Royal Oak chronograph and had a similar incident myself, wore the watch for about three months and one day it simply stopped working. AP replaced the movement and I've had no recurrence of this problem. But it seems to me that I've heard this same scenario from more people than would seem t

Rolex: OysterFlex?

I can't understand why Rolex did NOT extend the OysterFlex bracelet to fill in completely to the case! When I first saw this piece I was about to call my AD and put in an order, but then I noticed the way the bracelet is attached to the watch and reconsidered. It may seem a small point, but it looks

Audemars Piguet: Very nice...

I have to say that any strap looks terrific on RB2. This is my favorite AP and I only wish that this model was not a limited edition. One of the items I appreciate the most are the screws on the bezels, they're fantastic and would like to see these adopted to all OffShore watches. Jeff
