I’m actually partial to the 3970 over the 5970. Clearly in the minority on that one. Not sure I’d call it a grail or exit watch, but definitely feels aspirational.

Curious your decision to put it on a deployant clasp? Did you size up to 16 mm or stick with 14 mm? I have an 18x16 mm strap on mine right now. Have debated ordering the 16 mm version of the buckle that comes with the watch.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Midtown at night is not the best place to be wearing something flashy, but you’d be fine in other (more residential) parts of Manhattan. It is surprising that this happened on 60th/mad though. It’s a busy block with three high end restaurants. Still, I’d say this
