Beautiful watch. Kinda mindblowing that you have to wait until a watch gets discontinued until they make the proper adjustments. This watch should have never ever had the date function to begin with.

I doubt anyone complained back the 40s. Those had to be big and legible for a reason and were worn around a flightsuit. Those were actual tool watches. The current IWC not so much.
