Cartier: Calibre

The Rotonde is certainly gorgeous, though I have not seen it in person. As for the Calibre, both in it's original and new chronograph formats, also a beautiful creation. I had my heart set on the former, but upon visiting the localish Cartier boutique about a year ago, I was much less impressed. To

Cartier: Ballon Bleu

Unless you are absolutely in love with this particular watch from this particular dealer, why mess with it at all if you have even the slightest doubt about it's authenticity? As an alternative, there are many reputable online seller/dealers, most with liberal return policies. Based on the prices yo

Cartier: MC?

Many thanks, MTF. That is exactly the data I was looking for. I wonder what the "MC" represents in Cartier movement codes?

Cartier: Ref 2528

Curious to know what movement is in Cartier Ref 2528, as in the (new to my wife) Mdl WJ1111M9. I doubt this was in -house that far back (watch is about 10 yrs old, I believe). JLC? Valjoux? Other? Thanks in advance

Cartier: Bezel wear on Calibre de Cartier?

I have loved the look of the C de C since it's release, but after seeing and holding one, I percieved that the bezel has a proud (ie somewhat high) rather sharp upward facing edge, and in daily wear, it would seem that this would take a lot of dings. Has anyone had this experience when using a C de

Horological Meandering: I'm neurtal

I'm somewhat neutral on this. I like date-display watches, esp big dates, but I cycle my watches, and when I'm beginning the wear cycle of a no-date watch, it's one less thing to set.

Horological Meandering: The Lange

The Goldpfell is unusual, but somewhat trendy looking. I doubt it will hold it's appeal 20 years from now (assuming this matters, and that you would keep it that long) The Lange is classic, and will always satisfy. My tastes in watches, as you can imagine from these comments, runs to the classic/con

Officine Panerai: A new plan

Thanks to all who responded. After speaking with a guy at the LA Panerai Boutique, he said that they have not seen any 337's, and has no clue as to when, or if they will. Rather than wait forever, I'm now leaning toward a PAM 00287 or 00380, both of which are ETA/Valjoux 7750-based movements, but ar

Officine Panerai: Panrerai PAM 00337

Has anyone actually purchased/received one of the new 42mm Panerai 00337 Radiomir in steel? I have had one on order with my local AD now for nearly a year, and actually saw one at a Panerai event last Christmas, but no watch, and no word since then. The AD's position is that when it arrives, it arri

Horological Meandering: Why was the FPJ forum closed?

As a relative newbee to the PP site and having recently acquired an FPJ Octa RA, what were the issues that caused the FPJ forum to be closed? Am I missing something?
